Career Coaching

Promatch has a number of professional career coaches that donate their time to members.

Betsy Collard (Wednesdays 1pm — 4pm) Betsy has 30 years of career development experience working with professional level workers in Silicon Valley. Her experience includes 10 years as a career counselor for the State of California and more recently 20 years with the nationally recognized Career Action Center where she served as Director of Programs. She has extensive experience coaching individuals who are looking for work as well as serving as a consultant to many of the major high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. Betsy is the author of The High-Tech Career Book and co-author of numerous articles, including “Building a Career-Resilient Workforce” in the Harvard Business Review. Betsy has a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Stanford University and has been active in numerous community organizations.

Kathy Potter (Tuesdays 1pm — 4pm) Kathy has a wealth of experience in career coaching as a career center director at two universities, as and individual contributor at outplacement firms and in her own business.

Fred Goodfellow (Wednesdays 1pm — 3pm) Fred has a Ph.D and is available in the ProMatch Huddle on Wednesday afternoons to share his expertise in searching for employment opportunities and leads.

Steve Piazzale, Ph.D. (check the event calendar for his drop-in strategy group and coaching sessions) Steve is a Career/Life Coach in private practice and is also a Right Management Consultant. A Stanford University Sociology Ph.D. (with extensive training in Psychology), he’s listed in  Richard Bolles’ What Color is Your Parachute? Vania Parakati (see the event calendar for specific dates) Vania is a Career Counselor who can help you write a resume, prepare for an interview and keep you motivated in your job-search. With a professional background in various industries, including international corporations and local high-tech companies, Vania understands the challenges involved in career transitions and can help you obtain the tools necessary to succeed in your job search.

Jeff Winters (check the event calendar for his all-day Negotiation Workshop) Jeff is a high-tech professional with more than 40 years in Silicon Valley’s semiconductor industry. His last four positions were in start-ups and he also served at VP and General Manager of VLSI Technology’s Asian Operations and lived in Hong Kong for four years. Most recently Jeff was the Founder and CEO of a semiconductor equipment company and he has considerable experience raising funds and positioning young companies for success. He is currently serving as the chairman of a new venture in the alternative energy arena and is the CEO of a new venture focused on helping the mature job seeker called Our Experience Counts.com.
